Can I get much adventure exp for discoveries?

I think so.  All I can give are some examples.  At level 38, Enchanted Lands and Zek will each give a full adventure level.  At level 48, Sinking Sands, Pillar of Flames, and Clefts of Rujark will give a total of two adventure levels.

How do I use the numbers under the map to find a discovery?

In the text box of your chat window, type /loc a, b, c, where a, b, c are the three numbers after the discovery name in my table.  The first number represents the east-west axis, except that positive numbers are to the west and negative to the east.  The second number represents vertical height, and positive numbers are higher.  The last number is the north-south axis, except that (you guessed it) positive numbers are to the south and negative to the north.  Once you execute that command, a flashing X will appear on your map at that location, and when you get close, a shining yellow path will appear on your screen pointing you in the right direction.

Do I have to do the points in order?

Nope, my maps are just meant to be a guide.  I've tried to lay them out in a logical order that minimizes run time and exposure to mean, nasty mobs if the zone is higher than you are.  However, you're welcome to do them in any order you want.

I know I got a discovery, but the text fades from my screen after a few seconds.  Is there a way to tell when I'm close to a discovery?

If you use the default UI, mouse over your compass and a window will pop up with the name of the POI that you're in.  If you're not in a POI, it will list the zone name.  Just leave your mouse over the compass as you move around, and it will update automatically.  If you use ProfitUI, the information is listed under your location in the compass.  That's an easy way to tell if you're close to a discovery.

Some dots on the map are red and some are blue.  What's the difference?

Not all POI locations give experience.  The ones that do are in blue and are listed in the first table under the map.  All the others are in red and are in the second table.  Only blue dots have numbers, since you're probably not interested in going to the red ones.  They're just listed for reference.

Why are the maps so pale?

The ingame maps have a large range of brightness and color, which makes it very difficult to place the names of the POI with a color and font that's readable everywhere.  I tried different colors and fonts, with shadows and embossing, but nothing worked as well as just lightening the maps and reducing contrast.  The maps should still have enough detail for you to easily find where you are, but now the text and POI stand out much better.

How can I print the maps with more detail?

The larger maps are available in higher resolution that's easier to read and will print better.  Just click on the picture of the map and it will open just the map for easier viewing and printing.  If all else fails, right click and use the Save Picture As... command to save it to your computer.  Then print it with any photo editing application.

Is there any way to get a list of discoveries I've already made on my existing character?

There's no easy way to do it ingame.  If you go back to a discovery that you've already been to, you'll get the yellow text on your screen, but it won't indicate whether you got experience for it the first time.  However, you can do it if you have all your log files for that character, though it's not trivial.  For instructions, check out  How to Extract a Discovery List from Your Logs.

I found a discovery that's not on the map.  What do I do?

Great!  Send the name of the discovery and the /loc info to heilig@comcast.net.  Let me know if you want to be given credit, and if you do, include your character name and server.
